Chesterfield travelled to Newark and put the disappointment of three weeks ago behind them. The teams were made up of twelve players which played into the hands of the visitors as it gave their speed merchants more room to move and at the final whistle had run in thirteen and added four conversions. It took just two minutes for Chesterfield to open the scoring when Danny Booth went over the line for the first of her eight tries.Newark took the restart and were again in trouble when Mel Canning playing at full back ran on to the kick, broke through the tackles to put Rachel Sefai the skipper over the line for a try.Once again the kicking duties went to the trusty boot of Kim Hyslop. With unlimited possession Chesterfield ran in tries on a regular basis. The pack was dominant in the set pieces and good ball was guaranteed in the line outs by Nerys Hughes also a try scorer.Newark did threaten the visitors try line in the first half but the attack was held up by the Skipper bringing down the attacking player.A scrum for Newark but this was turned over and Mel Canning went to run the length of the field which should have ended in a try but the final pass was knocked on.A Newark scrum but they were pushed off the ball to let in Cat Wynn for a try.A scrappy start to the second half after a number of changes were brought to the Chesterfield side. The side began to settle and Danny Booth went in for her sixth try.Rachel Lum-Wai was next on the board when the ball was recycled to give her a clear run to the line.A twisted ankle forced Mel Canning to leave the field after another one her devastating runs. The last try went to the skipper who set off to run the length of the field and had just enough energy left to flop over the try line.Joint players of the day, Danny Booth and Cat Wynn.

Chesterfield travelled away in this league fixture and came up against the most improved team in the leaguehelped by guest players. The game never settled into any kind of pattern and some of the referees decisions were strange to say the least. The Chesterfield Ladies are still on course for the league title but a result like this makes the job just that bit harder.

Another successful game for Chesterfield Ladies against Newark has taken them into 2nd place in the League. Chesterfield seemed under pressure for the first 15 minutes and were defending furiously as Newark were pushing towards their try line but Chesterfield held their ground and found their own pace turning the game around. With great team play, support from everyone and a well kept defensive line they ran in 7 try's and stopped Newark from putting any points on the board. Players of the match went to Dani Booth for her superb all round effort during the game and her hatrick of tries and to Captain Rachel Cefai for her effort in her new position as flanker which resulted in her scoring a try from running through a well noticed gap in the field after breaking off from the back of a maul.
