The victories ladies team after their final game, beating Loughborough Ladies 35-19 and fielding the full 15 players gives them the extra point needed to win the League. An absolutely fanatsic effort from all involved.
Introduction:
Chesterfield PRUFC Ladies are an up-and coming women's rugby team based in Derbyshire. They currently play in National Challenge 2 East Midlands and are aiming to win the league this season after coming 3rd in The Midlands East 3 League last season. The team are very friendly and sociable with many activities and events taking place away from the rugby pitch as well as on it. We welcome players of all abilities so if you are a looking to try rugby for the first time or you are an experienced player looking for a new challenge, please get in touch.
Overview:
Our club has members of all ages - from 16 onwards - and all abilities - from complete beginners who've never even seen a game of rugby to those who have been playing for years - but we all love to socialise as much as we love to play rugby! Come & see what it's all about - just watch at first or join in at training, it's up to you.
Training & Games:
We train every Thursday, arrive from 7:00pm for a prompt 7:30pm start, our matches are played on Sunday afternoons.
The Ladies team of Chesterfield PRUFC have recently concluded a sponsorship agreement with Brampton Manor Country Club for a new set of kit to start the new season with. The kit was presented to the team by Craig Lynch on behalf of Brampton Manor and was accepted by Ladies Captain Rachel Cefai and Club President Steve Gambles prior to the first league game of the season against Ripley Rhinos, a game which Chesterfield went on to win convincingly. Speaking at the presentation Craig pointed out that Brampton Manor Country Club is a local family business, committed to supporting local sport and in the Rugby Club they see similar values to their own, with players of both sexes and all ages taking part in the game on a weekly basis. Brampton Manor Country Club, who were rewarded for their work in the community at the Derbyshire Chamber of Commerce Business awards earlier this year, and the Rugby Club are now looking at ways that they can continue to work together.
